ELLAVILLE, GA --- Mrs Glynda Battle Avery, age 72, of 7030 Hwy 153, Americus, GA died late Saturday evening, September 6, 2014 at Perfect Care in Americus, GA . Visitation will be held Monday, September 8, 2014 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Watson-Giddens Funeral Home in Ellaville. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM at Ellaville Baptist Church, Tuesday September 9, 2014 with burial to follow in the Ellaville Cemetery. Rev. Bill Givens will officiate.

Mrs. Avery was born December 24, 1941 in Schley County, GA, the daughter of John R. Battle and Ruth Highnote Battle. She was retired from The Tog Shop after 33 years and was a clerk at Lowes for 5 years. Mrs. Avery loved gardening, swimming, traveling and was an active member of Ellaville Baptist Church. In additions to her parents she was preceeded in death by her husband, Billy Ray Avery in January 2009 and one sister, Jean Eason.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Ellaville Baptist Church, Future Building Fund, P O Box 325 , Ellaville, GA 31806 or the American Cancer Society, P O Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718.
