CIVIL WAR VETERAN Co. B 20th TN Inf. Reg. Conf
Enlisted at Nashville, TN May 17, 1862. Received a medical discharge Oct 15, 1861 . Re-enlisted in McCann's TN Cav. Sept 1, 1862. Commissioned by Gen. Wheeler to go to Middle TN. to raise his own company of Cavalry and was captured while recruiting near Nolensville, TN July 29, 1863. Paroled for prisoner exchange Feb 8, 1865. Became Captain of Co. D. Carter's Scouts.
