WILLIE BATTS, 61, of 3189 McIntosh Cove, self-employed landscaper, died of lung cancer Tuesday at Baptist Memorial Hospital. Services will be at noon today at St. Stephen Baptist Church on Chelsea with burial in Memory Hill Gardens. R.S. Lewis & Sons Funeral Home has charge.
Mr. Batts leaves two daughters, Barbara A. Batts and Maggie R. Beasley; a son, Willie F. Batts, and three stepdaughters, Cathy Batts Henderson, Bobbie J. Owens and Peggy A. Woods, all of Memphis; two stepsons, Rev. William Hurt Jr. of Moscow, Tenn., and Terry A. Hurt of Texas; his mother, Lourlean Tatum, and three sisters, Rosemary B. Echols, Sharon Johnson and Lela Batts, all of Memphis, eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
