Survived by her children, Donna (Ronald) Ophardt, Diane Osterhout and Carl (Patricia) Batty; grandchildren, Greg (Tammy) Ophardt, Tammy (Marty) Davis, Dawn (Eric) Whiting, Raymond Kanicsar, Alana (Derek) Lockrem, Steven and Scott Batty; great-grandchildren, Courtney, Emily, Chelsea, Mason and Tyler; her sister, Loraine (Dean) Klafehn; her brother Harold (Shirley) Bauer; many nieces, nephews and friends. Velma was Past President of WNY Ladies Auxiliary Association, Life Member of L.A.F.A.S.N.Y. and Monroe County Ladies Auxiliary Association.
Funeral Services were held June 10 at St. John Lutheran Church, Hamlin. Interment, Lakeside Cemetery. Contributions can be made to St. John Lutheran Church Organ Fund in her memory.
