Clara B. Baumgardner died in a Johnson City hospital at 3 p.m. Monday following a long illness.

She was born at Flat Top on Feb. 27, 1900, a daughter of the late James Larkin "Lark" Crawford (1867-1960) and Joanna Victoria Jesse-Crawford (1871-Deceased); sister of James Kepple Crawford Sr. (1902-1955) & Lula Mae Crawford-Vass (1904-1929).

She was a member of the Christian Church. Mrs. Baumgardner had been a resident of Tennessee for the past 30 years.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Lloyd (Edith) Baumgardner-Fisher of Charleston, Mrs. Donald (Edna) Baumgardner-Meadows of Cool Ridge and Mrs. Michael (Wanda) Baumgardner-Profant of Minneapolis, MN; one brother, John Crawford of Cool Ridge; two step daughters, Mrs. Christine Eads of Johnson City, TN and Mrs. Marie Bowers of Elizabethton, TN; 18 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. today. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Calfee Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ralph Simms of Johnson City officiating. Burial will follow in the Crawford Cemetery at Ghent.
