Kathryn Anschutz, 63 passed away Sunday, February 6, 2011 at Mt. Carmel Hospital in Pittsburg. She was born in Wichita, Mar. 18, 1947. She was raised in Russell, by her adopted parents, Alex and Elsie (Steinle) Bay and graduated from Russell High School in 1965. She was a hair dresser all her working life.
She is survived by two daughters, Michelle Pitcock and husband John of rural Russell, Kansas, Holly Hall and husband Tracy of Russell, Kansas; one son, Adam Anschutz of Pittsburg, Kansas; three sisters, Amy Towner of Bismark, North Dakota, Sherry Kovnas of Manford, Oklahoma, Star Schwinn of Topeka, Kansas; one brother, Larry Sohl of Clairemore, Oklahoma; her birth mother, Carrol Joy Copple of Yates Center, Kansas; and 2 grandchildren, Mikayla Pitcock and Miles Anschutz. She was preceded in death by parents Alex and Elsie Bay and husband Leland Anschutz.
The body was cremated and a memorial service will be held in the spring in Yates Center, Kansas.
