Obituary in The West Australian (Perth) of May 14, 1907: DEATH OF AN OLD COLONIST. MRS. WILLIAM ANDREWS. Katanning. May 13. Mrs. Andrews, one of the earliest colonist, passed away at Katanning yesterday afternoon at the age of 83. She was born in 1824, near Cheltenham, England, and came to Western Australia when five years old in the ship Geelonore, with her father (the late Mr. Thomas Bayley). mother, two sisters, and two brothers (Thomas and Arthur). The family settled near York and engaged in farming and pastoral pursuits. Her father died in 1866. and her mother in the following year. Her brother Thomas was drowned in the Swan when 16 years of age. Her brother Arthur married, and settled at Hastings. The deceased was married in 1869, her husband being Mr. William Andrews, of Norin, near Wagin, where she resided for 18 years. At the end of that time she and her husband removed to Moojobing where they resided until 1898 when Mr. Andrews was killed in a vehicle accident. Mrs. Andrews then moved into Katanning, where she spent the remainder of her days. She enjoyed good health up to the last few months. She leaves no children, her nearest relatives being the children of her brother Arthur. Mesdames Pollard, Timperley, and Atwell, Miss Bayley, and Mr. F. Bayley.
