SOUTH BEND - Elizabeth A. Durskey, 84, passed away Wednesday, March 5, 2014, in the West Bend Nursing Facility. Elizabeth was born October 8, 1929, to the late Frank and Mary (Stanz) Beard. Elizabeth married Richard Durskey, who preceded her in death. Elizabeth was also preceded in death by her son, Terry Lee Naragon; brother, Frank Beard Jr.; and sister, Velma Kosanovich. Survivors of Elizabeth (Liz) include her granddaughter, Terri Lea (Tim) Kunai of Florida; step-grandsons, Jimmy White of Minnesota and Jeremy White of South Bend; great-grandchildren, Charles (Babie) Vogel of Kansas, Iam Cruz of Florida, Stephen Nagy of South Bend; great-great-grandchild, Lillian Vogel of Kansas; nephews, David (Pam) Beard, and their children, Stacy, Erica and Jill of South Bend, and Dennis (Sandy) Beard, and their children, Stephanie, Scott and Amber; daughter-in-law, Ruby Naragon of South Bend; many friends, and especially Kathi (Dennis) Stombaugh and Sylvia (Joe) Bodnar. Elizabeth was a member of the American Legion Post 284 and worked there for 20 years. She enjoyed playing euchre, pool, darts, and visiting the Four Winds Casino. Burial will take place at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery on March 22, 2014, at 10 am. ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd., is assisting the family with arrangements. The family would like to thank the staff at the West Bend Nursing Facility, especially Mrs. Lilly and Moses for all their care and kindness to Elizabeth.
