Betty Beckett, 84, of Wiliamstown, passed away Dec. 27, 2012, at The Arbors of Marietta.

She was born May 22, 1928, in Akron, Ohio. She worked at the Food Center as a cashier for 16 years and was a member of the VFW Post 5108 and Marietta Moose Lodge.

She is survived by one daughter, Juanita Beckett Styer; one son, Charles Michael Beckett; two grandchildren, Tony (Dana) Styer and Nicole Styer; two great-grandchildren, Estella and Cooper Styer; one brother, David Frazier and his wife Theresa of Medina, Ohio; two nieces, Glory Goehringer and her husand Erik of Akron, Ohio, and Rachel Gibson and her husband Glenn of Cleveland, Ohio; and two nephews, Norman and Robert Snyder of Medina.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard Charles Hamrick and Myrtle Fought; husband, Denzil Verlin Beckett; sister, Mildred Snyder; and her biological mother, Della Frazier, with who she became very good friends during her lifetime.

Services were Friday at Hadley Funeral Home, Marietta.
