Anna Josefina Anderson was born on May 28, 1881, in South San Francisco, California, the daughter of Emma and Peter Anderson, who were both born in Sweden. She had one brother, George Anderson born in 1888. She was baptized on July 31, 1881 at the Swedish Evangelical Lutheran Ebenezer Church in San Francisco, CA. Anna married Henry Joseph Beckman on October 12, 1901 in Marin County, California and they had five children, Edward Howard born 1902, Irene Gertrude "Gert" Beckman DeRisi, Ethel Josephine Beckman Pelissier, born 1911 and George Howard Beckman born 1913 and their foster daughter, Ruth Alberta Devras De Lasaux born in 1921, who joined the Beckman family before she was 8 years old. Anna was a very loving grandmother to Sandra (Pelissier) Kravchenko, Marcia Beckman, Judy (Beckman) Muilenberg, Kathy De Lasaux, Thomas De Lasaux and Michael De Lasaux and she adored her seven great-grandchildren. She died on September 28, 1961, in San Jose, California, at the age of 80, and was buried in Colma, California at the Cypress Lawn Memorial Park alongside her devoted husband, Henry, who died in 1944.
