Frances Marion Bedford Armstrong, 87, passed away Friday evening at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

She was the daughter of the late Jack Anthony and Martha Taylor Bedford, and was the widow of the late Dorbin "Don" Armstrong.

Mrs. Armstrong was retired from the family business, Bedford Hatchery.

She was a member of Freedom Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jonathan Smith officiating. Committal services will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.

She is survived by her children, Barbara Sheldon and husband, Jon, of Goldsboro, Donna Henderson and husband, J.D., of Winston-Salem, Kathy Belardo and husband, Nick, of Morehead City and Bill Armstrong and wife, Cindy, of Gaithersburg, Md.; sister, Alice Wethington and husband, Howard, of Raleigh; brothers, J.A. Bedford and wife, Shirley, of Goldsboro and Robert Bedford of Canoga Park, Calif.; grandchildren, Chris Henderson, Jeff, Jennifer and Ryan Armstrong and Rebecca, Melissa and David Sheldon; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Zick.
