Update July 2017: With thanks to findagraver, Rebecca Sheehan-Plotkin (#48659266) who discovered and took time to transcribe a lovely 1917 obit for Mrs Anna Moore Billmyer Bedinger. Rebecca wrote that she found this "obituary for Anna Bedinger in the Shepherdstown Register (Shepherdstown, WV) of 7/26/1917." "Mrs. Anna Moore Bedinger, aged 72 years, widow of Rev. Everett Wade Bedinger, a prominent Presbyterian minister and educator, died on July 15th at the family residence in Anchorage, Kentucky. Her death was a result of a stroke of paralysis, superinduced by heat prostration, suffered three weeks previous. Saturday she received a second stroke and lapsed into an unconscious state, from which she did not rally. Mrs. Billmyer [sic, Bedinger] was a native of Shepherdstown, and a daughter of the late Conrad Billmyer, a pioneer woolen mill operator. She had been a resident of Kentucky since her marriage in March 1869, and for thirty-six years had lived in Anchorage. Her husband’s death occurred in March, 1916. A daughter, Miss Anna M. Bedinger, died last August upon her return from Korea, where she had been sent as a missionary by the Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Bedinger is survived by two sons, Henry G. Bedinger, a lawyer, of Louisville, and Dr. John V. D. Bedinger, who was in the field hospital at Ft. Oglethorpe, Ga., at the time of his mother’s death; three daughers, Miss Mariah Bedinger, teacher at the Louisville Girl’s High School; Miss Katherine Bedinger, of Anchorage, and Miss Olivia Bedinger, teacher at the Emmert Field School; and a sister, Miss Catherine Billmyer." Yes it seems that we have at least three surname spellings for Anna's maiden surname: Billmyer, Bilmyer, Bilmyre. I notice an early Conrad Billmyer, Find A Grave Memorial# 7383892, but on the photo of his Elmwood Cemetery, WV tombstone it reads "Bilmyer."
