Carolyn Pinkston Bee passed away in Houston, Texas on November 8, 2011, surrounded by her adoring and devoted children.
Carolyn was born on December 14, 1929 in Corsicana, Texas. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 53 years, Dan Alan Bee. Carolyn and Dan grew up in Corsicana, Texas, and they both graduated from Texas Tech University. Carolyn and Dan took great pleasure in their family, international and domestic travel, especially to the Gulf Coast and Great Britain, gardening, and cooking. They enjoyed entertaining their family and many friends and were the perfect hosts, thanks to Carolyn's warm and welcoming personality. During their 25 years in New Orleans, LA, Carolyn was a member of the Crescent City Needlepoint Guild, Aurora Plantation Garden Club, Tall Timbers Garden Club, Christ Church Cathedral altar guild, and P.E.O. Sisterhood.
She also enjoyed working alongside Dan in his memberships in the New Orleans Roundtable Club, the Endymion Mardi Gras Krewe and the Amoco Retirement Club. Carolyn and Dan were members of Christ Church Cathedral in New Orleans for 25 years. They also resided in Wink, Midland, Longview, Tyler, Tulsa, Denver and Houston.
Carolyn had a knack for engaging conversations and bringing out the best in people she met. Carolyn is survived by son Michael Alan Bee and wife Patty, daughter Katherine Bee Peveto and husband William, grandchildren Victoria Marie Bee, Marcus Alan Bee, Danielle Devine Miller and husband Jason, and great-grandson Matthew Alan Miller.
A private memorial service will be held for Carolyn. In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests memorial contributions to the American Heart Association .
