Obituary for Judith Artley
Judith K. Artley, age 79, of Flat Rock, passed away on Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at Beaumont South Shore Hospital in Trenton, Michigan.
Born on December 25, 1935 in Trenton, Michigan, she was the daughter of James and Arlene (Lang) Beer. On April 7, 1956 she married Joseph Artley at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Rockwood, MI .
She was employed with Flat Rock Community Schools as the Secretary for the Superintendent for 22 years until retiring in 2000.
Judith was a member of Huron Valley Players. She enjoyed reading,cooking classical music. She loved to shop and her family enjoyed teasing her about owning everything in Jacobson's and Talbot's.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Surviving are husband, Joseph Artley of Flat Rock; son, James (Marsha) Artley of Albuquerque, NM; 3 daughters, Shannon (Carl) Dempich of Grosse Ile, Kirsten (Wayne) Sauchak of Woodhaven, Julianne (Charles) North of Reading; 4 grandchildren, Justin, Kyle, Anne and Isabella; 1 great-grandchild, Jonathan; 2 sisters, Jamie Hunter of Flat Rock and Sandra (William) Bisson of Portland, ME.
A Graveside Service will be held at Michigan Memorial Park on Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at 10:00 am. Cremation has taken place.
In lieu of flowers contributions in Judy's memory may be made to the Great Lakes Caring.
