Flora Mae Anderson, 89, of Sheridan died Thursday, July 1, 2004, in Sheridan Manor. Cremation has taken place, and graveside services are pending at Monument Hill Cemetery in Thermopolis. Mortimer Funeral Home of Thermopolis is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Anderson was born April 1, 1915, on the family homestead near Hugo, Colo., to William Porter and Abbie Mae (Roberts) Beer. She graduated from high school in Casper, then attended the University of Wyoming, where she received her teaching certificate. She taught elementary school for a number of years in Lusk, Casper and Thermopolis. She married Donnell O. Anderson May 24, 1940. He died Aug. 5, 1988. She moved to Sheridan in 2001. Mrs. Anderson was a 50-year member of Order of the Eastern Star and a member of Daughters of the Nile. She enjoyed ceramics, crocheting and sewing. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother. Survivors include a daughter, Susan Malkuch of Sheridan; a son, Donnell of Woodland, Calif.; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Vesper Chapter 19, Order of the Eastern Star, Scholarship Fund at 283 Red Lane, Thermopolis WY 82443.
