His father Peter Behan was born in Ireland and his mother Sarah Ann Harris in Kentucky. He married Lillie E. Jones on 29 March 1882 in Prescott. His Arizona Territory Standard Certificate of Death lists his cause of death as pneumonia, of 12 days duration. The Certificate says he was married (no spouse name provided) and 50 years of age. His year of birth was therefore approximately 1850. This is also stated to be the approximate birth year on the 1880 census.
