She was born in Flint Michigan, on December 26, 1917, the daughter of John and Julia Cindric and moved to Pekin, NY as a child.
Kitty and she was called by her family and friends began working as a beautician, in Lockport, NY, in the mid 1930?s. She had operated her beauty from her home, in the Town of Wheatfield, for over 40 years. She was always available to serve others as she was the beautician for over 30 years for area funeral directors, in North Tonawanda, Niagara Falls and Sanborn.
She was a longtime member of the St. John Lutheran Church, in North Tonawanda, and the Ladies Aide of the church. She was also a member of the Wheatfield Seniors.
Her husband of 55 years Elwood Behnke, predeceased her in 1996.
Surviving are two sons, Ronadl Behnke, of Tonawanda, Robert [ Rachel ] Behnke, of North Tonawanda, a granddaughter Renee [ Jerome ] Sperrazza, great grandsons, Nicholas and Thomas Sperrazza, special friend Marilyn Gilbert, sisters, Helen [ John ] Knox, Mary Schimshack, Millie Dooley, Frances Broeker-Wiseman, also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late, Rose Lederhouse, Ann Mittelstaedt, John Cindric and L. Martin Cindric.
