NORFOLK - Aaron Behrman , 89, of the 7400 block of Spartan Ave., died Nov. 6, 2002, in a Norfolk hospital.
Mr. Behrman was a native of Portsmouth and a resident of Norfolk. He was the son of the late Abraham and Ida Siegal Behrman and was preceded in death by his brother Bernard Behrman . He was the widower of Gertrude Behrman . He was a member, former board member and a honorary member of the sisterhood of Congregation Beth El, a life-member of the Hadassah, a member of Brith Sholom Lodge, and a volunteer with Jewish Family Services for 20 years with its Meals on Wheels Program.
Survivors include two daughters, Sharon B. Schloss and her husband, Ben, of Norfolk, Gloria B. Ornoff and her husband, Martin, of Richmond; a son, Barry S. Behrman of Chesapeake; a sister, Sara B. Shapiro of Norfolk; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Rose and Joseph Jaffe of Norfolk; nine grandchildren, Allison Durkee, Jeffrey Ornoff, Gary Ornoff, Adam Ornoff, Eric Schloss, Lauren Schloss, Brad Schloss, Brady Behrman , Shannon Paschall; and nine great-grandchildren; and his special friend, Margaret Hirsch of Richmond.
A temple service will be at noon today at Congregation Beth El by Rabbi Arthur Ruberg and Cantor Jacob Tessler. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will be at 6810 Whitehall Road, Norfolk, VA 23518 following the funeral. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Congregation Beth El, Jewish Family Services or the charity of your choice. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Norfolk Chapel is in charge.
