Mr. Belaney was born in Brooklyn, New York on May 28, 1920.
He was an Air Force Veteran of World War II.
He retired from Lucent Technologies.
Beloved husband and father, he is survived by his wife of 61 years, Nell Simmons Belaney; three daughters, Jackie Belaney of Greensboro, Bonnie Kivett and husband, Craig Kivett of Rocky Mount, and Janie Belaney of Greensboro; three grandchildren, Sandy Scott, Lisa Greer and Jeremy Kivett; and one great-grandchild.
Private memorial services will be held at a later date.
