Letha M. Carter, 81, a retired saleswoman at Saks Fifth Avenue, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2017. She was born Dec. 7, 1935, in Union City, Tenn. She led an active lifestyle with her worldly travels and settled in Las Vegas in 1980. It was there that she started and excelled in her career in high fashion until retirement in the early 2000's. She is survived by her companion, Will Patterson, and his grandchildren, Margaret and Melinda; children, Scott (Sheri) Carter and Dawn (Samuel) Benham; grandchildren, Briana (Dave), Ashley (Chris), Brittany (Brian), Sean and Brilynn; and two great-grandsons, Ryan and Robby. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 26. Service will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 27, both at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89123. Burial following at Palm Valley View Memorial Park. The family requests that in lieu of flowers and gifts, donations be made to Alzheimer's Association of Southern Nevada. Her family and friends are comforted knowing she is finally at peace and is in a better place.
