From the Reno Evening Gazette, Monday, October 16, 1944:

DEATH CLAIMS MRS. DeARMOND

Following a lengthy illness, Mrs. Fay Elizabeth DeArmond died Saturday at her home in Sparks. Mrs. DeArmond had been a resident of Reno and Sparks for the past 27 years, and was well known in this area.

Born in Cedar Springs, Virginia, she was 61 years old. She was an active member of Queen Esther Rebekah Lodge of Sparks for many years.

Surviving is a son and daughter, Cecil S. DeArmond of Sparks and Mrs. Genevieve Stuhr, also of Sparks. She was a sister of Mrs. H. F. Browning or Fairfax, Missouri, S. E. Ballou of Pulaski, Kentucky, Anna Bell and James O. Bell of Langdon, Missouri.

Also surviving are three grandchildren, Ruth Cooksey and Janice and Louise DeArmond, all of Sparks.
