Ethel L. Armstead, 86, of Decatur passed away on Tuesday morning August 22, 2017 in Fair Havens Christian Home.

Homegoing service to celebrate Ethel's life will be 11 AM Saturday, September 2, 2017 in Jasper Street Church of Christ with Minister Douglas Perry officiating. Visitation will be 10-11 AM Saturday in the church. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.

Ethel was born on November 19, 1930 in Bowling Green, MO the daughter of Ishmael James and Ora B. (Harrleson) Bell. She married Charles Armstead on December 21, 1946. He preceded her in death.

She was a member of Jasper Street Church of Christ, loved to travel, play Bingo, Music especially Luther Vandross and be around her family.

She leaves not to mourn but cherish fond memories her nieces, Diane Bell of Decatur; Kathy Bell of Jackson, TN; Sherly McGee of Decatur; Nita Rice of Fort Madison, IA; Linda Bell off Arizona; Teea Moore of Georgia; nephews, Guy Bell of Fort Madison, IA; Norman Bell Jr of Fort Madison, IA; William Bell Jr of Fort Madison, IA; and a host of great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, William, Harry, Norman, and Herbert and Wallace Bell; one sister, Emily Bell; and two nephews, Jeff Bell and Raymond Lee Bell.

The family would like to thank Fair havens Christain Home for all their hard work and caring of our dear aunt.
