Mrs. Henry Aldridge, who lived near Fransonia, was fatally burned last Sunday while trying to carry a lighted lamp, which exploded and covered her dress with burning oil. Mr. and Mrs. Aldridge were at home alone when the sad occurance took place. Mr. Aldridge was at the barn when the accident happened to his wife and upon coming to the house he soon extinguished, but too late to save her life. Medical aid summoned from Noble arrived shortly before death ended the aged sufferer's agony. Dr. Martin Corner was summoned and held and Inquest. A verdict was rendered in accordance with the above facts.

Elizabeth Bell was born in New Concord, Muskingdum County, Ohio, Oct. 9, 1840; passed away July 18, 1915, age 74 years, 9 months and 9 days. She came with her parents to Illinois in April, 1854. She was married to Henry Aldridge March 8th, 1866. She has been a member of the M. E. church for a number of years and was a devoted member until her death. She has been a faithful wife, a loving mother and a good neighbor. She was the mother of five children, three sons and two daughters, two sons having gone before in infancy. One son and two daughters survive, Mrs. T. J. Colborn, Mrs. G. A. Claycomb and James Aldridge; three grandchildren and one brother, Robert
