Rites Here Saturday for retired West Frankfort Coal Miner
Funeral services for George Bellis, 83, who died at the home of his son, George Bellis Jr., in Chicago Thursday, will be conducted Saturday at 10 a.m. from the Hudachko chapel and at 10:30 a.m. from st Stephen's church. Burial will be in St. Stephen's Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home until the hour of the services. The rosary will be said there at 8 o'clock tonghit.
The son of John and Anna (Rakas) Bellis, the deceased was bron in Czechoslovakia July 28, 1876. He came to America in 1892, settling in Middletown, PA, and was united in marriage with Anna Spisak of Streator, Sept 25,1906.
Mr Bellis lived in West Frankfort, Ill., for many years, working there as a coal miner until his retirement. He had lived with his son in Chicago the past three years.
Surviving with the son are two brothers, Steve Bellis and Andres Bellis of Streator and two sisters, Mary Pribula of Europe and Barbara Quaka of California.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two brothers, John and Joseph Bellis and a sister, Anna Kozak.
He was a member of st Clement's church in Chicago.
