On November 26, 1955, Adela married Carl Belz at St. John Lutheran Church in Arlington township, Sibley County. 1957 was a year of great joy with the birth of their son, Carl Jr., but it also brought hardships. Her beloved husband, Carl was paralyzed from the waist down when he fell from the roof of a house he was shingling. After rehabilitation, Carl returned home determined to continue farming and succeeded with the help of Adela.
Adela was a wife, mother, homemaker, nurse and companion who worked beside her husband so he could continue farming on their farm in Jesseland township for the next 20 years until his retirement.
Adela was also a member of St. John Ladies Aid. she was survived by her son, daughter-in-law and one granddaughter.
