Bennett retired after 25.5 years of service from the Stockley Center in Georgetown. She was remembered as a wonderful woman who loved her family. She loved spoiling children and was the matriarch of the family. Bennett loved sewing, word-find puzzles and feeding the birds — especially her favorite hummingbirds. Bennett loved people, was always happy and loved to be around people. She was helpful in any way she could be.
In addition to her parents, Bennett was preceded by her husband, Gordy, in 1982, five brothers and two sisters. She is survived by six siblings and their spouses. She is also survived by an "adopted" daughter, best friend and constant companion and her husband, "adopted" grandchildren, and six "adopted" great-grandchildren and a host of other friends and extended family around the area.
