Born January 31, 1917 in Raleigh County, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Alice Plumley Bennett.
She had lived all her life in Raleigh County. She was a member of the New Salem Church at Abraham.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Adkins, in February 1970.
Survivors include one daughter, Glenna Belle Bennett of Cleveland, Ohio; one step-daughter, Virginia Plumley of Shady Spring; seven step-sons, Jess of Prosperity, Kesler and Clyde of Shady Spring, Franklin of Lanark, Eugene of White Oak, John of Meadow Bridge, and Donald of Columbus, Ohio; two brothers Howard Bennett of Prosperity and Charlie of Marfrance; three sisters, Mrs. Sarah Adkins of Shady Spring, Mrs. Nannie Hunt of Rt. 9 beaver, and Mrs. Della Todd of Leland; three grandchildren.
The body is at Ronald Meadows Funeral Home in Hinton.
