Nora Lee Andrews, 68, passed away July 14, 2016, in Ketchum, Idaho, after losing her battle with cancer. Nora was born in Tempe, Arizona, on October 15, 1947, to Wailen and Alice Bennett. She grew up in Mohave Valley, Arizona, with her parents and four siblings. She attended Mingus Union High School in Jerome, Arizona, and resided in Bakersfield, California, for over 30 years. Within her lifetime, Nora was blessed with six children, one who died at six months old. She met her husband, Alfred, at 43 and was married 25 years. She enjoyed knitting, traveling, gambling, and chicken and dumplings. She greatly loved her children and grandchildren and took pride in their accomplishments. She will be greatly missed by her entire family.
Nora was preceded in death by her parents, Wailen and Alice Bennett, and her sons, Kenneth Allen Jr. and Jackie Vandenburg. She is survived by her husband, Alfred Andrews; siblings, Wailen Bennett Jr., Patricia Wallstrom, Donnie Bennett, and Joe Bennett; her children, Judy Sheahan, Joe Vandenburg, Merrill Graham III, and Nora Halstead; her grandchildren, Shelly, Jon, Ben, Kara, Hayley, Justin, Samantha, Merrill, Sadie, Cameron, Sean, and Shyanne; and her great-grandchild, Owen.
Nora’s service will be held on Saturday, July 23rd, at 1:30 p.m. at Greenlawn Funeral Home, 3700 River Blvd., Bakersfield, CA 93305.
