D'IBERVILLE --- Lydia Cora Armstrong, 86, died Tuesday, April 17, in Gulfport.
Mrs. Armstrong was a native and lifelong resident of the Coast. She was employed as a waitress at Duncan's Restaurant in Biloxi for many years and retired from Keesler Air Force Base Exchange after 10 years of service. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Handsboro Chapter.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J.A. Armstrong; her parents, T.C. and Lydia Benny; a sister, Doris Uren; and four brothers, T.C. Benny, Jimmy Benny, George Benny, and Charles Benny.
Survivors include two daughters, Martha A. Wood of Gulfport and Virginia "Ginny" Raley of Woolmarket; a son, Tom Armstrong of New Mexico; a brother, Edgar Benny of St. Martin, nine grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes in Biloxi where friends may call one hour before services. Burial will be in Coalville Cemetery in Woolmarket.
