Ms. Benny entered into the Kingdom of Heaven at her home with her loving family by her side.

She was the daughter of Pietro Coppola and Mariangela Di Salvatore Coppola.

As a young woman, she worked at Bellevue Maternity Hospital and Ellis Hospital as a nurse’s attendant. Later, she worked for Schenectady Service Center and ultimately, in the family business, Printing Services of New York, as an administrative assistant.

She was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church in Scotia, NY for over 65 years where she enjoyed singing in the choir, serving in the Rosary Society, and was a long standing member of the Ladies of Charity.

She is survived by her adoring and beloved husband of nearly 67 years. They were married on July 8, 1950 and their marriage truly exemplified what a faithful, giving, love filled marriage should be. They were devoted to each other and did almost everything together. He always told her that when seeing her for the first time he felt like he was struck by lightning. He often quoted her a verse by Roger Whittaker; “For I have loved you dearly, more dearly than the spoken word can tell.”

She was the devoted, treasured and dearly loved, mother of four children and six grandchildren. She is also survived by her cherished siblings; sister-in-law and brother-in-law.

She was predeceased by her sister Gertrude Coppolo of Schenectady.

She lived an extraordinary life of humility, grace and dignity. She was the kindest, most generous, compassionate person you could ever meet. She was without a doubt one of God’s angels on earth. Her legacy of giving was evident to everyone she met, whether friend, family or stranger. She was a master at seeing someone in need and providing something for them. Whether it was a kind gesture or word to a sales clerk at a store, food, clothing or a listening ear, she was always there for anyone in need. She had a remarkable gift of making everyone feel special, because to her, they were special.

In spite of hardships in her early life, she was an excellent mother and beloved grandmother. She excelled at creating a beautiful, fun-filled home with lots of laughter. It was the place everyone wanted to be, and family and friends stopped by often and were welcomed heartily. Her stories about her early life were legendary and taught her children and grandchildren lessons in faith, love, kindness, generosity and compassion.

There was always an abundance of food and the motto “there’s always room for one more at the table.” Her family would often tease her and say that “Grandma fed the world”. She and her husband loved tending their huge garden and sharing their produce with everyone. One of their greatest joys in life was taking their whole family to Italy to meet and reconnect with family there.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Joseph’s Church, 231 2nd Street, Scotia. Services were held at the White Funeral Home, 264 N. Ballston Avenue, Scotia.
