Lola Luwaine Benson Balls, 80, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 8, 2011 at the Franklin County Medical Center in Preston, Idaho. She was born on August 11, 1930 in Logan, Utah to Ora Lorenzo and Emma Burris Benson. She married Marlin James Balls on December 10, 1947. He preceded her in death on Jan 18, 1983. Lola was an active member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served faithfully in many callings as a Sunday School teacher, a visiting teacher, Primary secretary, a Relief Society Supervisor, Extractor, and was a faithful attendee of the temple. She will be missed by her many friends neighbors. She is survived by her children Paulette (Paul) Barnes, of Morgan, UT; Sandra Balls, of Ogden, UT; Jeffrey (Ruby) Balls, of Pingree, ID; and John (Colleen) Balls, of Preston, ID; 12 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, a sister Ruth (Bill) Samson, of Riverdale, UT; and a brother Gordon (Monta) Benson, of Logan, UT. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Marlin, two brothers Ora Luther and Golden Dean, and three sisters Annie Evelyn, Margaret Mae, and Faye. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the Preston 10th Ward Chapel, 155 North 200 West, in Preston with Bishop Lynn Eskelson conducting. A viewing will be held Monday from 6-8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home, 1005 South 800 East, in Preston, and Tuesday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Preston Cemetery.
