Albert was born Feb. 2, 1919, at Moscow to Bert and Dekka Mellom Benson.
He joined the U.S. Army on Sept. 2, 1942, and served with the 752nd Military Police Battalion. He was discharged on Feb. 12, 1946.
He married Erma Parkins and the couple later divorced.
He later married Wanda Plumley and she died in 1981.
He married Velma (Peggy) Benge Schott on May 19, 1984, at Potlatch. The couple made their home at Moscow.
