WATERBURY — Alfred P. "Fred" Berardino, age 87, of Forest Ridge Road, died Nov. 27, 2012, at Abbott Terrace Health Care Center. He was the widower of Annie M. (Kiriluk) Berardino.

Fred was born Feb. 26, 1925, in Plainville, a son of the late Felix and Frances (Berardi) Berardino and lived in Waterbury since 1952. He was educated in the Plainville schools. Prior to his retirement in 1990, Fred was employed as an electrician. He retired from Highland Manufacturing, but had also worked at Princeton Knitting Mills and the former Reymond Bakery in Waterbury.

Fred was very devoted to his family and to Our Lady of Loreto Church, where he was a communicant. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

He leaves two sons, Robert Berardino and his wife, Martha, of Newton, Mass., Richard Berardino and his wife, Kathy, of Southbury; a daughter, Linda Boisvert and her husband, Jeff, of Watertown; four grandchildren, Michael Berardino, Jennifer Fucci, and Emily and Philip Boisvert; several nieces and nephews; and many great nieces and great nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Virginia Ingellis.

Funeral 9 a.m. Friday from the O'Neill Funeral Home, 742 Main St., Oakville, to Our Lady of Loreto Church, Waterbury, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10. Burial will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery, Bristol. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday morning from 8 to 9 a.m.

The O'Neill Funeral Home has been entrusted to assist his family with arrangements.
