Moved to Fort Myers from West Germany in 1982. He was a member of Myerlee Country Club and was an avid golfer since the age of six. He attended Temple Beth-El Synagogue.

Survived by his wife of seven years, Elsie Keller-Berglas; his son and daughter, his step-children, five grandchildren, a great granddaughter, five step grandsons and one step great granddaughter.
