VICTORIA - Georgia V. Barnes 65, of Victoria passed away Wednesday, May 7, 2014. She was born June 21, 1948, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to the late Martin and Mary Freeman Bergin. She was retired from the teaching profession and a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Hers was the kindest and most loving of souls. The best mom a boy could want.

Survivors include her sons, Robert Barnes, and Lawrence Barnes of Corpus Christi; daughter, Bunny Shelton of Louisiana; step-son, Clair Barnes, Jr; three grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Clair Barnes and her brother, Clair Freeman.

Memorial services were held.
