Benjamin Pearce Bergstedt, 13, of Lake Charles died at 1:00 AM on Saturday, June 21, 2008 in his residence.
Ben was born November 29, 1994 , in Shreveport, LA and lived all of his life in Lake Charles. He was an honor roll student at S.J. Welsh Middle School. Ben enjoyed computer games, drawing, and writing. He was a member of Henning Memorial United Methodist Church.
Those left to cherish his memory are his father, Dr. Scott Bergstedt and wife Sheila of Sulphur; his mother, Dr. Jennette Bergstedt and fiance' Richard Cormier of Lake Charles; two brothers, Matthew Ryan Bergstedt of New Orleans and Andrew Phillip Bergstedt of Sulphur; two sisters, Audrey Jane and Zoe Bergstedt both of Sulphur; maternal grandmother, Sharon Sepulvado of Bossier City; paternal grandparents, John E. and Donna Bergstedt of Carlyss; maternal great grandfather, Calvin Owen of Danville, IL; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, June 25, 2008 at Henning Memorial United Methodist Church. The Rev. Tim Neustifter will officiate. Burial will be in Dutch Cove Cemetery in Carlyss under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Tuesday June 24, 2008, from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM in the funeral home. Visitation will continue on Wednesday at the church from 12:30 PM until time of services.
