D. Vivian Anderson, 76, of Hempfield Township, died Monday, July 20, 2009, in her home. She was born March 12, 1933, in Harrison City, a daughter of the late Francis M. "Jess" and Dorothy Winfield Berlin.
Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a cafeteria manager for the Hempfield Area School District. She was a member of New Hope Presbyterian Church, in North Huntingdon, and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 400, of Irwin.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles W. Anderson, in 1993. She is survived by two sons, Charles W. Anderson Jr. and wife, Wendy, and Alan D. Anderson and wife, Diane, both of Irwin; a granddaughter, Megan Anderson; a brother, Francis Alvin Berlin and wife, Elaine, of Penn Township; and a sister, Darlene Stankewich and husband, Henry, of Homer City.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the JAMES E. LINDSAY FUNERAL HOME INC., 3343 Route 130, Harrison City. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the funeral home with the Rev. Janet A. Reid officiating. Entombment will follow in Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont.
