BERNAU, ANNA GLADYS S. Anna Gladys Schade Bernau, 94, retired master cosmetologist, passed away on May 14, 2008 at Shands at the University of Florida.
Gladys Bernau was born in Perth Amboy, New Jersey, the youngest of 3 children to Simon George and Helen Allen Schade and grew up in Fords, New Jersey.
From 1945 until 2003, Gladys resided in Orlando, FL and was an active member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Upon moving to Gainesville, she lived at The Atrium for 3 years and was currently residing at Gainesville Health Care Center. Nothing ever came easy to her in this life; still she gave much to many, living simply so she could be generous to those she cared about.

Interment will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park in Orlando; no local services are planned. Those wishing to memorialize Gladys are encouraged to support their local National Public Radio stations, Audubon Society or area Council on Aging. Arrangements are under the care of Forest Meadows Funeral Home, Cemeteries, and Crematory.
