Barbara Nell Richardson Berringer, of Bryan, departed this life peacefully in her home on Tuesday, December 9, 2008. Services are set for 2 p.m. Saturday, December 13, at Lee Chapel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Floyd Polk officiating. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, December 12 at Jones-Washington Mortuary.
Barbara Nell Richardson Berringer was born on January 16, 19400, in Bryan to Viola and Robert Richardson Sr. Born the fourth of eight children, she was baptized at an early age at Lee Chapel United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Berringer; her parents, and three sisters, Tarrylene, Ruby and Ina.
Survivors include her five daughters, Bonita A. Thompson and husband Calvin of Killeen, Diana Berringer and Ira Rhone, both of Dallas, Dorothy Bowe, Cassandra Bailey of Bryan; son, Walter Berringer Jr. and wife, Lois; sisters, Nettie Clay and Nancy Harris of Bryan,; Meredith Brown and husband Ira Lee of Houston; brother Robert Richardson Jr. of Houston; 15 grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren and numerous family and friends.
