Marion C. Barrass Dies In California

Marion Cuthbertson Barrass, 85, 520 E. Carson St., Carson, Calif., died Friday at 8:30 a.m. at Harbor Hospital in Carson where she had been a patient for one week.

Mrs. Barrass was born in Scotland Oct. 28, 1886, the daughter of the late Robert and Maggie Neason Beveridge and came to Rock Springs in 1906. She had resided here until moving to California about four years ago.

She married John Cuthbertson July 3, 1903 at Thurber, Tex. Mr. Cuthbertson preceded her in death in 1935. She later married Richard C. Barrass. He preceded her in death in 1959. One son, Cecil Cuthbertson, also preceded her in death.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Pythian Sisters.

Survivors include two sons, Robert Cuthbertson of Rock Springs and Dave Cuthbertson of Pinedale; three daughters, Mrs. Vivian Sturholm and Mrs. Edith Zadra, both of Carson, and Mrs. Ray (Gladys) McCarty of Highland, Calif.; one brother, William Beveridge of Rock Springs; one sister, Mrs. Jeanette Reynolds of Denver, 12 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are tentatively scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Vase Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Mountain View Section of Rock Springs Municipal Cemetery.

Funeral services for Marion Cuthbertson Barrass, 85, of 520 E. Carson St., Carson, Calif., were conducted Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Vase Funeral Home, the Rev. George Serson of the First Baptist Church of Green River officiating. Burial was in the Mountain View section of Rock Springs Municipal Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Raymond Cuthbertson, Charles Bittner, Carl Anderson, George Harris, Bill Rogers and Bill Ingle.

Mrs. Barrass died Friday, July 8, at Harbor Hospital in Carson where she had been a patient one week.
