Marie Emma Kaulfus Biels, 87, was born July 20, 1927, in Falls County, Texas. She died Wednesday, March 11, 2015.
She served her family as a housewife and caregiver. Her greatest joy was time spent with her granddaughter, Tammy. She was a member of First Lutheran Church, American Legion Auxiliary, VFW Auxiliary, and Sons of Hermann.
Marie was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Ruben, on December 26, 2003; daughter, Shirley Biels, on August 21, 1999 at age 43 of cancer; her parents, Paul and Hertha Kaulfus; three brothers, Otto Kaulfus, Oscar Kaulfus, and Fred Kaulfus; and two sisters, Tillie Koerth and Elsie Klaus.
She is survived by her daughter, Glenda Marie Biels Gebert; son-in-law, Leland Rae Gebert; granddaughter, Tammy Annette Gebert, and many relatives and friends.
A time of gathering will be held on Friday, March 13, 2015 from 5pm-7pm at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home, 3110 Airport Rd., Temple, TX. A funeral service will take place on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at 10am at First Lutheran Church, in Temple with Pastor Patricia Dietrich officiating followed by an interment at Bellwood Memorial Park in Temple.
