Major League Baseball Player. He spent 11 seasons in the major leagues as a member of the Pittsburgh Pirates from 1916 to 1926. He played collegiate baseball at the University of Oregon before joining the major leagues. He made his major league debut at the age of 21 on August 24, 1916. He appeared in 1,147 games during his professional career. He retired with 17 home runs and a .287 lifetime batting average.
