ALDERSON — Thomas Edward "Eddie" Biggs, age 24, of Alderson, formerly of Beckley, died Saturday, June 6, 2009, from injuries sustained in a tragic accident on West Virginia State Route 3 and 12 at Pence Springs, W.Va.

Born December 24, 1984, in Richmond, Va., he was the son of Thomas H. and Theresa Vipperman Biggs of Alderson.

Thomas attended Woodrow Wilson High School, Beckley, and Greenbrier East High School, Fairlea, and was of the Baptist faith.

He loved to go swimming, camping on the river, fishing, target shooting with his dad, and playing video games. Thomas loved spending time and playing with his children.

Thomas was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, James and Francis Biggs.

Survivors include a son, Darren Biggs of Alderson; a daughter, Makayla Brockway-Biggs of Covington, Va.; his parents, Thomas H. and Theresa Vipperman Biggs of Alderson; a sister, Carrie A. Workman and her fiancé, Thomas Robertson of Alderson; a nephew, Aaron Workman of Alderson; maternal grandparents, Otis and Evelyn Vipperman of Beckley; companion, Jenifer Carter of Alderson; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 10, 2009, at 11 a.m. at the Lobban Funeral Home Chapel, Alderson, with Pastor Jonathan Hunt officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley.

Friends may call 7 to 9 p.m. (today) Tuesday, June 9, 2009, at the Lobban Funeral Home, Alderson.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
