He was a member of the American Legion, the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), 30th Infantry Div. Tar Heel Chapter Thomas Oglesly, the U.S. Civil Affairs Assn., and the Fort Belvoir Golf Club.
Survivors include his wife, Charlotte Biggs; daughter, Deborah Barnes; grandson Samuel Barnes; two sisters, Ruth Birch & Anita Pitsenbarger.
He was the son of the late Ruffin & Zettie Biggs.
Graveside services with full military honors were conducted Tuesday, May 19, 2008.
