Illness Fatal to Mrs. Anderson;
Rites Pending
Mrs Robert W. Anderson the former Diane Billingslely, died early this morning at David Grant Medical Center at Travis Air Force Base Calif., after a serious illness of more than three months.
Mrs Anderson, 24, was the daughter of Mr and Mrs Roy Billingsley Lockridge and a former Miss Fairfield.
Funeral arrangements are pending. Services will be held in Lockridge, and burial will be in Glasgow Cemetery.
Mrs. Anderson had been critically ill since May 5 when she underwent brain surgery at Grant Medical Center. Her condition later improved but she lapsed into a coma Thursday night and did not regain consciousness.
Mrs Anderson was born July 31, 1946 the daughter of Roy and Kathleen Linderson Billingsley. She graduated from Fairfield High School in 1964 and received her BME degree from Iowa Wesleyan College in 1968.
She received numerous honors both in high school and college
In 1966 she was chosen winner in the "Miss Fairfield" Pageant. She was a member of the Augustana Lutheran Church Of Lockridge and Pi Beta Phi national sorority. For a year and a half she taught vocal music in the Cedar Rapids school system.
She was married to Lieut. Robert W. Anderson June 21 11969. She and her husband resided at Reese Air Force Base Lubbock Tex. until March when Lieut. Anderson was transferred to Castle Air Force Base Merced Calif.
Mrs Anderson is survived by her husband, her parents and two sisters, Jennifer and Lisa Also surviving are two grandmothers Mrs Mary Linderson, Lockridge; and Mrs Belle Billingsley, rural Fairfield.
