Phyllis E. (Bishop) Balintfy, 79, of Syracuse, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at St. Joseph's Hospital. She was born in Asheville, NC, the daughter of the late Charles H. and Arteanus E. (White) Bishop. After retiring from Canteen Corporation as Kitchen Manager, she spent a few years donating her time at Modern Woodmen, planning events for member dinners. In her recent years, countless hours were spent at Canton Woods Senior Craft Center in Baldwinsville. Phyllis and the ladies donated their crocheting skills creating beautiful lap blankets and Afghans for the sick at St. Joseph's Hospital. Phyllis loved to paint and draw and was always working on more than one project at a time for someone she loved. Her family was most important to her above all. Anything she could do to help her daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren was on her priority list. Her loving family will be lost without her and will miss her very much. May Phyllis rest in peace until we see her again. She was predeceased by her sister, Elaine Morhardt and her brother, John Bishop. Phyllis is survived by her three children, Brenda (Andrew) Aiken of Hudson, NY, Cheryl (Rob) Kranenburg of Texas, and Valerie Dinoff of Fulton, NY; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; her three brothers, Charles (Joan) Bishop of Florida, Robert (Sandy) Bishop of Scotia, NY, and James (Sharon) Bishop of Florida, along with many nieces and nephews. A funeral service in celebration of Phyllis' life will be held on Monday, June 30, 2014 at noon in the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY. Burial will be in Manlius Village Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to attend a calling hour on Monday from 11 a.m. to noon at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME.
