youngest da/o George Bishop and Marion Wallace
married Ethelbert K. Abbott on 11 march 1909
two sons: Paul A. and Kenneth E. Abbott

From a newspaper article of 1912 in a book kept by Sarah King Abbott (Marcellus Observer November 22, 1912):

"Ruth R. Bishop Abbott died at the home between Dolan's Corner and Cedarvale at 3 a.m. Wednesday, November 13th after but seven days' illness of gastritis. She was the youngest daughter of George Bishop and Marion Wallace, born in Otisco March 11, 1883, and had lived there all her youth. She was a graduate of Tully High school and taught school some six years before her marriage to Ethelbert K. Abbott on March 11, 1909, on her birthday. They located on the Roswell Comstock farm, which Mr. Abbott purchased. Two boys were born to them, and they had made many warm friends in the neighborhood. She united with the Baptist church of Tully some year ago.
She was usually in good health. Dr. Lowell attended in this illness. She was a kind and affectionate wife and mother and was highly respected by all who knew her. A wide circle of friends were greatly interested in her happy marriage and start in life, and deplore this sad taking off, with sincerest sympathy for the bereaved husband, orphaned sons and the family. The two boys, Paul A. and Kenneth E. survive, with the husband, her mother, Mrs. Marion Bishop; three sisters, Mrs. Andre Beak, near Lord's Corners, Mrs. Charles Ripley and Mrs. Jacob Kahm of Otisco and two brothers, Seth of Joshua and Edward of Borodino.
The funeral was held Friday, November 15th, at the house at 11 and at Maple Grove Methodist church at 2 p.m., Rev. White officiating, with Jones & Son in charge. Interment was made in Maple Grove cemetery. Floral pieces attesting the esteem of friends came from the Ladies' Aid of the Cedarvale M.E. church, Miss Mae Smith of Tully, Mrs. Belle Murphy of Marcellus, Gladys Hitchings and also from brothers and sisters and the husband."
