Mrs Allen was the widow of Samuel H Allen, who was a building contractor in Natrona.
A daughter of James C and Margaret Robertson Black, both of whom were among the pioneer residents of the Kier’s Crossing district in Creighton, she was born in Tarentum, Sep 20, 1866. She was an active member of the Natrona Heights Presbyterian Church and the Women’s Club of the Allegheny Valley.
Mrs Allen was the mother of J Clyde Allen, of Natrona Heights, superintendent of the No 2 hot mill at the Brackenridge plant of Allegheny Ludlum Steel Corporation; Margaret Allen Huff, of the Gumbert School for Girls, Perrysville, and the late William C Allen, of Natrona Heights. She also leaves a brother, D Charles Black, 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
Friends are being received at the Walters funeral home, 543 E 10th Avenue.
