Rachel Elizabeth Black Ball, age 91, was born August 30, 1922 in Greenville, SC to Solomon and Celia Black and moved to Cocke County at the age of four. She was a long time member of Shady Grove Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Robert Ball; sons Robert Walter Ball, Ricky Ball; brothers, John and Leonard Black; sisters, Bell Ball, Lou Emma Burnett, and Pauline Crum; great-great granddaughter, Jaycee Chesteen. She is survived by her son, Ottis Ball, daughter Darlene Barger, several grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister, Joneta Ball; brother, S.C. Black.
