Alice June Blackwell, 91, of Bedford, passed away peacefully at Garden Villa on Monday, March 23, 2015 at 1:20 p.m. Born June 28, 1923, in Springville. She was the daughter of Julius C Blackwell and Roxie Holmes Blackwell.

She was a graduate of Springville High School. June was retired from G.M. Powertrain, Bedford. She was a member of U.A.W., local #440, for over 60 years where she had been vice-president for many years and also was a recipient of the Walter Reuther award, which is the highest honor in the Union. She was very active and enjoyed traveling, loved people, and just enjoyed living life.

Surviving are one sister, Helen Blackwell Zike; three nieces, Joyanne Zike Hawkins, Glenda Zike Livingston and Janet Miller Wells; her friend Billie Joe Mahan; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Genevieve Blackwell Roberts and Glowdene Blackwell Miller; three nephews, Ronald Miller, Kenny Zike, and Jerry Zike; and one niece, Bonnie Roberts Simmons.

Funeral service will be on Thursday, March 26, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home, with Sister Becky Ryan officiating. Burial will be in Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Friends may call Wednesday, 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
